We are registered Adult Leaders that guide the troop program. Meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each Month, 7:30—9:30 PM and are held at the Scoutmaster’s house.
Our monthly agenda looks like this:
- Review of recent troop activities
- Equipment
- Advancement
- Recruiting
- PLC
- Plans for upcoming troop meetings
- Adult Leadership tasks/assignments for upcoming campouts, activities
- District, community events/opportunities
- Input for Newsletter
Scoutmaster meetings are always open. If you have a topic for discussion, please contact the Scoutmaster, Gary Marquardt at (734) 429-3442, in advance so it can be included in the agenda.
Scoutmasters take turns being “Scoutmaster in Charge” (SMIC) on campouts and events.
Assistant Scoutmasters may serve in specific roles, such as First Year Program, High Adventure, etc.
Troop 457 is a boy-run program and we are committed to guiding the PLC, adhering to BSA ideals and guidelines. The Scoutmasters serve as role models to encourage boys to live the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and work “side by side” with the Troop Committee. As adult leaders, we share the same challenges and can realize the same sense of fun and accomplishment through the Scouting program.
