Outdoor Leadership Skills (OLS)
OLS is a course that takes participants through all the steps that a scout would to achieve the rank of First Class. It is a great course on camping basics and I found it an enjoyable weekend.  It is considered part of the three basic training classes that one needs to become a trained ASM. (Note if you wish to go to Philmont, you will need to complete ASM training). Register at council website.

For further information please contact Kim Brunelli, District Training Chair

Troop Leader Specific Training (TLST).  TLST is a day long class that gets into specifics about duties and provides scads of resources.  It does a good job to prepare you and I found it especially helpful with respect to meeting other people who can support me when I need it.

Youth Protection Training -
If you haven’t had this yet or it is time to update your training, the Youth Protection online training course is up and active.     WEB ADDRESS:  http://www.gstcbsa.org/Training/YPT/index.htm  Youth Protection must be taken by every adult leader active with youth.  We now have a resource that makes it easy to get every one certified every two years.  Please take advantage of this resource.

Roundtable
— Huron Trails holds Cub Scout and Boy Scout monthly roundtables on the 2nd  Thursday of each month, September through June, at Knox Presbyterian Church 2065 S. Wagner Road, Ann Arbor starting at 7:00 p.m. Come one and all! June meeting usually at Camp Munhacke. No meeting in July. Especially useful for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters – Committee invited as well. Good idea to have at least 1 representative from the troop in attendance. Topics for each month are planned based on request. Safe Swim, Safety Afloat, other training offered periodically.

Adult Leader Training – District schedules training days in Fall and Spring

Pow-Wow – Day-long program of presentations, demonstrations, information pertinent to Scout Leaders. Concurrent sessions include Scoutcraft skills, leadership skills, program ideas. Vendors, resource material displays, etc. Held on a Saturday in January at Saline High School.
