Deer Trails - 2010

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members of the Boy Scouts of America with leadership skills and experiences they can use in their home Troops and in many other situations demanding leadership of self and leadership of others.

A National Youth Leadership Training course is set up to represent a month in the life of a normal Scout Troop. Incoming participants are assigned to Patrols that form an NYLT Troop. The first three full days of the course represent the first three weeks of a Troop calendar, complete with Patrol Leaders’ Council meeting, Troop meeting, Patrol meetings and planning for a Troop Big Event. Participants use the full range of BSA resources for planning and conducting meetings that are interesting, lively and relevant - a skill they can use with great effect when they return to their home Troops.

NYLT will be held June 27- July 2, 2010 at Camp Teetonkah. This exceptional week long training experience is available to Scouts who are at least 13 and have their First Class rank. Boys returning from this course make a dramatic difference in Troop operations. This course will accommodate 64 youth (no more than 6 from each Troop).  Reservations are transferable but non-refundable. Registration forms are available at the Council Service Center. Register now as we expect to be at capacity by May.
